I am an AANE (Association for Autism and Neurodiversity) trained and certified neurodiverse couples therapist. Based on my experience and advanced training, I believe that therapy with neurodiverse couples is effective.

Partners in neurodiverse couples are wired differently.

Often, there is a sense that they speak different languages and live in different realities, and both are left feeling alone and misunderstood. I help my couples to release judgment about who is right or wrong, and I also help them take a deep dive into the reality of their person, their needs, values, and understanding of the world and relationships. A non-pathologizing acknowledgment of the differences is the first step that leads to mutual understanding, acceptance, and ultimate healing.

Many who come to me have never received an autism diagnosis and have been inaccurately labeled as “aloof, rude, indifferent, and not caring.” Our work together will help translate diverse realities and strengthen emotional connection, empathy, and compassion. You would leave with tangible tools to help you anchor yourself in the new, more adaptive relational dynamics.
